HANYU HQ · FOR FAMILIES AND SCHOOLS
Terms & Conditions
Effective: 1 September 2026
For young learners: use HANYU HQ for learning, be kind, and ask an adult before changing device or microphone settings. Your teacher and trusted adults are here to help.
1. Agreement and adult supervision
These Terms apply to the HANYU HQ website and learning materials operated by Diego Manolo Tesoro. When a child uses HANYU HQ, a parent, guardian, or authorised school representative must review and accept these Terms on the child's behalf and supervise use as appropriate. If you do not agree, do not use the website.
2. Educational purpose
HANYU HQ provides Mandarin lessons, notes, pronunciation practice, writing practice, and quizzes for educational support. It does not replace a teacher's professional judgment, a school's curriculum requirements, or formal assessment. Results and speech or writing feedback are learning aids and may not always be exact.
3. Safe and permitted use
You may use HANYU HQ for personal, classroom, and school-authorised learning. You agree not to:
- damage, disrupt, overload, probe, or bypass the website or its security;
- use automated tools to copy substantial parts of the service;
- upload malicious code or impersonate another person;
- use the service to harm, bully, or invade another person's privacy; or
- copy, sell, publish, or commercially reuse protected lessons, recordings, artwork, or software without permission.
4. Microphone and device features
Microphone activities are optional and require device permission. A parent, guardian, or school should decide whether a child may use them. Speech recognition and writing accuracy are automated estimates; learners may retry or use the available skip option. Users are responsible for their device, browser, internet connection, and permission settings.
5. Progress and availability
Current progress is saved in the browser on the device being used. It may be lost if browser data is cleared, the device is changed, private browsing is used, or storage is unavailable. We may update, correct, add, remove, or temporarily suspend lessons or features. We aim for reliable access but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.
6. Content and intellectual property
HANYU HQ's original software, lesson presentation, recordings, graphics, branding, and other materials are owned by or licensed to the operator and are protected by applicable law. Mandarin words, characters, general language facts, and other public-domain material remain subject to their existing legal status. Limited classroom display or use is allowed only as intended by the website.
7. Third-party services and links
The website may rely on hosting, browser, operating-system, or speech-recognition providers. Their services and privacy terms are separate from ours. External links are provided for convenience and do not mean HANYU HQ controls or endorses every external page.
8. Disclaimers and responsibility
To the extent permitted by law, HANYU HQ is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that every translation, pronunciation judgment, score, or automated recognition result will be perfect. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded, especially protections that apply to children and consumers.
To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of, inability to use, or reliance on the website. Parents, guardians, schools, and teachers remain responsible for learner supervision and decisions based on the learning results.
9. Ending access
A learner may stop using HANYU HQ at any time. The operator may restrict access when reasonably necessary for safety, security, legal compliance, misuse, or service maintenance. Device-based progress can be removed with the Reset saved progress control or browser settings.
10. Governing law and changes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without removing any mandatory rights a learner or consumer has under applicable local law. We may update these Terms as the service changes. Continued use after an update means the responsible adult accepts the revised Terms.
